As we will move forward, Hindutva will not remain unknown to us. In this article we will discuss about the difference between Hindutva & Hinduism. Hindutva was always kept under the shadow of Hinduism and Hinduism itself was used to tarnish Hindutva. It is important for us to know the truth of western ideology that went inside our system and became known as Hinduism. So called great thinker of India, Mr. Shashi Tharoor tweeted an infographic which highlighted the difference between Hindutva & Hinduism. Although it was not a difference but an agenda which has been run against Hindutva.

So let’s discuss about the handmade story of Hindutva vs Hinduism.
Before proceeding further, we should explain a little about the word Hinduism and become familiar with its history. There is a suffix “ism” added in word Hindu to describe the Hindu Dharm. Suffix “ism” derived from the ancient Greek suffix “ismós” that reached English through the Latin suffix “ismus”, and the French suffix “isme”. If we go through the nature of universality, “ism” is a narrow idea that deal with some specific practices, system or a philosophy. By “ism” it is meant by some codes based on political and social dogma. It is less related to spiritual and moral ethics. Now you can think of misfortune of Bharatvarsh that the suffix with narrow means and derived from Europe has been used to malign Hindutva that is the summary set of Sanatan itself. How can we shrink the great Hindu Dharm in the narrow existence of a European ideological definition? One of the major drawbacks of modern history is that in the last few centuries, the Sanatan culture of Bharatvarsh began to be seen from other perspective in which the west is predominant.
Political and colonial slavery was over but ideological slavery continued to exist. This
ideological slavery resulted in the indiscriminate use of Hinduism. The leftist
historians and intellectuals of that time, who were troubled by the efforts of
nationalism and intellectual regeneration of Veer Savarkar, connected Hindutva
with radicalization of Hindu Majoritarianism. Due to constant efforts, these
conspirators also succeeded in their work and Hinduism was given the dignity of

The follower of Hindutva never believes in injustice. We have talked about
Hinduism on the basis of suffix fixed with it so we will do the same while discussing
Hindutva. Suffix “tva” denotes the quality of anything, quality that can’t be described
in words. For example, emotions and dedication of mother can be known as
“Matrutva” and it can only be felt. Hindutva is just like that. Hindutva which is a
virtuous form of Hindu Dharm and which deals with sentiments and characteristics.
Hindutva is much practical than we think. It is a history that not only belongs to the
religious and cultural existence but made of every possible philosophy. An
economical and political emergence of Bharatvarsh is also an eternal part of
Hindutva. Parallel to the levels through which a Hindu passes from birth to death, there
is a system that embraces both happiness and sorrow. It is beyond attachment
whose sole purpose is the welfare of the nation and the entire human race. That
emotion is Hindutva. Although Mr. Shashi Tharoor tweeted a lot of misconceptions
about Hindutva but the most important point should be discussed here which
related to the mere definition of Hindutva. He quoted, “Hindutva is exclusive and
practitioner of Hindutva actively hate and fear the other religions. Especially islam &
christianity”. This is the most dangerous interpretation of Hindutva because it deal
with the existence of Hindutva ideology. Sorry Mr. Tharoor, but you are wrong. Only
Hindutva accepts theism and atheism. Hindutva also gives us right to condemn. Hindu Dharm is so great where no one hangs anyone for blasphemy and does not force people of other creeds to convert. Hindutva respects disagreement as much as consent. Mr.Tharoor may not have heard of Kamlesh Tiwari.
By saying some intellectuals like Mr. Tharoor, Hinduism will not be superior to Hindutva. Hinduism is and always be a western idea. Truth can be suppressed, hidden but not destroyed. Hindutva is that truth. Only one who understands Sanatan will able to understand Hindutva.
